Christina Klose

Together with Dierk Hebbeln, I am responsible for the professional development programme
and for the support of (early career) researchers at MARUM.

The professional development programme includes

  • Courses and trainings in science and transferable skills,
  • Counselling / mentoring / coaching,
  • Conferences / meetings / seminars,
  • Career development,
  • Public outreach projects, and
  • Language classes.

I am also responsible for alumni relations, including events with and for former MARUM colleagues and our service of an @marum-alumni.de e-mail address.

Relevant Qualifications (certified)

Training as a researcher:
  • Diploma in Physical Geography, Geology and Botany, University of Göttingen
  • Doctorate in Earth Sciences, Freie Universitaet Berlin
  • Postdoctoral research at University of Oldenburg
International experience:
  • one year high school education in the United States
  • one year university education at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland
  • a total of six months research work in Taiwan during my doctoral project
  • more than 20 years work experience in international environments and projects
Training / experience as counsellor and coach:
  • trained systemic coach (die coachingakademie, Hamburg)
  • regular training in career counselling, mediation, communication, psychology etc.
  • regular participation in supervision and work in intervision groups
  • MHFA - Mental Health First Aider
  • more than 20 years work experience incounselling and coaching researchers
