Research Topics

• Marine heat flow investigations. This encompass hydrothermal circulation on mid ocean ridges, ridge flanks and continental margin.
• Gas hydrate research. We look for the expression of gas hydrates in geothermal gradients. Targets are mud volcanoes or gas hydrate prone continental slopes.
• Deep sea instrument development. A new version of a heat flow probe is under development.
