Bio Sketch
My passion is robotics, and this is where I seek my daily thrill. I graduated in computer science with a minor in logic and theory of science, worked at both Munich universities as researcher in cognitive robotics, AI, and web query languages, and then joined the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon as researcher in marine robotics, interrupted by a short visit to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. In 2011, I began working towards the PhD degree in engineering, jointly supervised by Prof. António M. Pascoal at the IST and Prof. John Hauser of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where I was a visiting scholar for over half a year in 2012. In 2014, I joined the research staff of MARUM (Center for Marine Environmental Sciences) at the University of Bremen as a scientist and systems engineer responsible for the development of a novel type of underwater glider.
