Research Topic

Morphodynamics of embayed beaches over short to large temporal and spatial scales. The effect of wave forcing conditions (wave direction, diffraction, spreading), environmental conditions (average wave energy, sediment type, tide range) and bay geometry (headland angle, beach width, inclanation) is analysed using numerical models (Delft3d) and field data (at Tairua and Pauanui beaches, New Zealand).
