Marine Geotechnics

In the Marine Geotechnics Group, we develop equipment for a wide range of water depths, from shallow shelves to the deep sea (6000 m). These are either complete new developments or further developments of commercial devices. The focus is on CPTs, temperature measurements, and the physical parameters of sediments and their relationship to the occurrence of earthquakes.

Most of the equipment we use in the Marine Geotechnics Group is wholly or partially self-developed. However, strategic partnerships with companies are established for mutual benefit. Examples of such collaborations include partnerships with ANTARES, develogic, FIELAX, GEOMIL, and nke.
