Communications

For the Offshore Phase, telecommunication services may be provided by the platform. However, this depends very much on the communications infrastructure available, which can vary strongly. Therefore, ESO has its own Starlink© system. The system is very portable and can be deployed rapidly on any platform.

In addition to Starlink, ESO also has a set of mobile 3G antennas as redundant communications system for when operating close to the coast and in reach of mobile network.
