Victoria Orphan is the James Irvine Professor of Environmental Science and Geobiology at Caltech. Her research group uses molecular, microscopy, and geochemical tools to study the microbial ecology and physiology of interacting environmental microorganisms within deep ocean and extreme environments involved in transformations of methane, sulfur, and nitrogen.
